County Cup - Stroud U11's
Stroud RFC U11's travelled to Widden Old Boys for this years county cup competition and ended the morning progressing to the plate finals after a win over Hucclecote in the quarter final.
Stroud were slow to start in their first two games loosing both by a close margin against Old Pats 7 points to 5, Stroud's points were from an excellent weaving run from Konah Dyer. The second match was lost against Coney Hill 5 points to nil. Credit must be given to all the team in this match for their excellent committed display with all players making big tackles against opposition twice their size.
The third game against Fairford saw a Stroud win 5 - 0 with the try by Joe Ashenford.
Stroud 19 Hucclecote 0 Quarter final
Stroud showed a lot more commitment in this game and were soon rewarded with a well worked try for Reuben Keating following a good passing phase of play from both the forwards and backs, Keating adding the conversion. Joe Ashenford was next to score after breaking free from a maul and out sprinting the defence for the try. Stroud saved their best try till last, Harry Pavis made an excellent solo break from deep inside the Stroud half, feeding the ball to the support players with Dom Butcher receiving the final pass to crash over for the try and then adding the conversion.
Tackle of the day was awarded to Harry Ward for numerous excellent tackles against Coney Hill.
