Stroud played away in their final group game of the county cup. A try and conversion for Old Richians within the first 10 minutes was evidence of the start of the game going all the home team's way. Some good ball carrying from Adam Stock and Blue Lynes led to an attacking run by Harry Phillips but at the line out Old Richians made a decisive break back into the Stroud half and managed to put severe pressure on the Stroud defence culminating in another try. With Stroud down to 14 men, careless passing and a string of missed opportunities, Zain Ahmad-Riza broke through the Old Richian defence to score just before half time and put Stroud on the board. The second half began with more of the same as Old Richians kicked a penalty, scored twice and converted once again. Stroud did make a last minute push led by their captain Ed Price supported by Blue Lynes and Sam Halliday but in a scrappy final few minutes Old Richians countered and made a break concluding with another try and conversion. Commendation goes to Ed Price playing out of position and Zane Ahmad-Riza for his fearless play. Man of the Match for Stroud - Sam Halliday.
