Dear Stroud RFC member
We hope that this update finds you safe and well and optimistic about the spring and summer. With the exciting news that organised sports can return from March 29th and guidance issued by the RFU, we are busy getting prepared for a return to rugby.
We plan to recommence training for seniors from Thursday 1st April with the juniors returning on Sunday 4th April. We will be extending the season until the end of May.
Some of you may be aware that Keith Fruin sadly passed away recently. Keith was a fantastic supporter of the club, both on and off the pitch and he will be sorely missed by all at Stroud RFC. It was fantastic see so many members turn out for the funeral cortege, it demonstrated the high regard that Keith is held in. Our sympathies are with his family and we look forward to raising a drink in his honour in the very near future.
We have taken the lockdown period to continue with our maintenance of certain items at the club and we are pleased to report that with all your help from the Crowdfunder page, we have been able to complete the water mains replacement and carry out some much-needed pitch maintenance. We are also undertaking some refurbishment to the clubhouse that we hope to have completed upon your return.
The club continues to support the car wash and we encourage you to make use of the facility when it re-opens (my car certainly has missed its bi – annual clean!) and Prime Practice physio has continued to operate throughout the latest lockdown delivering much needed treatment to the community.
Once again, we thank you for your support over the last year and we are looking forward to welcoming you back to Frome Hall Park and playing some rugby!
Take Care
Bushy, Kirsty, Tim, Dave G, Rob, Dave C
