Nomads got off to a good start with centre Cory Baker kicking an early penalty after Old Cryptians were penalised at a ruck. Old Cryptians were soon in the lead when after a good threequarter movement their winger scored in the corner, the conversion was missed.
Nomads came back strongly with some excellent driving by forwards Lee Marshall, Rob Higgins and Tom Flanagan, which gave an opportunity for the Stroud threequarters to give full back Nathan Taylor an opening which resulted in a try, the difficult conversion was missed.
With half time beckoning the Stroud forwards maintained play in the Old Cryptians half, a relieving kick by their outside half then bounced kindly for their winger who beat the covering defence to the ball for a try.
The second half was played mainly in the Nomads half, but strong defence kept the Old Cryptians team at bay until a good break by their centre resulted in a try under the posts, the conversion being kicked.
Stroud did not give up and after a couple of good runs by Sam Leworthy, a pass to Tom Flanagan and a good run by him resulted in No.8 Matt Leworthy scoring wide out.
With a much changed team from the previous week this was a good performance by the Nomads.
