Coney Hill with the wind at their backs opened with a try in the first minute of the game, when their fly half ghosted through a static Stroud defence and scored at the posts, with an easy conversion.
Due to Coney Hill being unable to supply a front row uncontested scrums were taken from the start of the game. Strong play by the Stroud forwards took them into the Coney Hill 22 and from the ensuing ruck centre Cory Baker forced himself over the try line.
Good handling by both forwards and backs kept the pressure on the Coney Hill side and some good forward drives with Captain Rob Davey at the heart most of the attacks being rewarded with a touchdown and Stroud's second try.
Coney Hill's backs looked very sharp when they had ball in hand, but good defensive tackling by all the Nomads players kept them out, until a loose ball was snapped up by their winger who scored wide out, the try being converted.
Nomads upped their game again and some excellent passing with Jacob Marsh and Jamie Leworthy giving wing Alex Powell the opportunity to show his skills and beat several defenders to score at the posts, try converted by full back Matt Binns. Immediately Coney Hill hit back with their forwards driving over the line for their third try, again converted.
The second half started disastrously for Stroud when the Cony Hill winger beat several would be tacklers to score their fourth try, again converted. This motivated the Nomads side and with the wind at their backs they laid siege to the Coney Hill line and after several drives had been thwarted Rob Davey crashed over for this second try.
Nomads kept up their attacks and from one of these a fly hack by a Coney Hill player landed safely in the hands of Stroud hooker Sam Davies who scored a very simple try under the posts, converted by Matt Binns.
Further good play by the Nomads back line gave winger Sam Beavis the chance to score his first try for the side since returning to the club. Several minutes later he was in the action again when he kicked a penalty goal awarded for a ruck infringement by Coney Hill. They however, had the last word when their nippy winger escaped and scored the final try of the afternoon.
A spirited performance with captain Rob Davey and man of the match leading the side to a fine win.
