With a much depleted side Nomads came up against a very well organised Coney Hill team who ran out comfortable winners. The Stroud pack held their own at both scrum and lineout with Ryan Kibble having an outstanding game in a losing cause. With scrum half Callum Gibbs making a welcome return to the fold together with No8 Grant Nash, Nomads tackling kept the young Coney Hill threequarters in check for most of the first half, although they were able to run in three converted tries.
The second half followed the same pattern as the first with Nomads under pressure from the start, but once again good defensive work by all the players kept the score down. Second row Charlie Foote scored the only Nomads try after an excellent drive through the Coney Hill defence, converted by fly half Cory Baker. With the Stroud team now tiring appreciably Coney Hill took full advantage and scored four late tries, converting two.
