A performance of two halves by Nomads with injuries hampering their first half domination.

On a bitterly cold afternoon Nomads were soon into their stride with centre Brendan Wheeler cutting through a static Chosen Hill defence to score the first try after some 5minutes of play, converted by fly half Ian Bushell. Chosen Hill with their heavier pack use it to good advantage with driving mauls, but good defence by Nomads kept their line intact, with full back Fred Stephenson making one try saving tackle. Stroud backs with Chris Toon and Brendan Wheeler always looking dangerous with ball in hand made good inroads into the Chosen Hill half and wing forward Chris Jones was on hand to score the second try again converted. Several injuries then interrupted the flow of the game with Nomads 2nd Row Mark Clinch having to leave the field with a damaged Achilles injury, replaced by veteran Rob Davey. With the half coming to an end Nomads wing Jack Kightley made an excellent run up the wing only to be tackled just short of the try line, from the ensuing maul Rob Davey picked up and crossed for the third try again converted by Ian Bushell.

The second half saw a complete change in the game with Chosen Hill using their big forwards to make territory and then release their young quick backs. They were soon rewarded with two quick tries by their wing, and with more injury worries with Nomads winger Jack Kightley having to leave the field with damaged ribs, they came under very strong pressure with desperate tackling to keep their opponents out. A further try scored by Chosen Hill when Nomads wing Sam Strange was in the sin bin brought the score to 21-15 with still ten minutes to play. Stroud relieved the pressure with a strong run by Chris Toon and a kick which took play into the Chosen Hill 22. A loose ball was collected by Chris Jones who crashed over for his second try again converted. Stroud kept the pressure on and from a short penalty kick near the Chosen Hill line Chris Jones strolled over for his third try, again converted.

For his all round play hooker Sam Davies was awarded man of the match.
