Nomads were under strong pressure from the kick off and after some poor tackling, Old Cents scored an unconverted try. Further scores came shortly afterwards with Stroud's defences being breached despite some good tackling by fullback Sam Leworthy. Although Nomad's forwards came into the game towards the end of the first half, Old Cents went in at half time 24 points to 0 up.
The second half was a different story with some excellent 3/4 play by Guy Hopson, Chris Organ, Sam Leworthy and Dan Ryland, which took play up to the Old Cents line and two good scoring opportunities for Stroud went begging, when a scoring pass was dropped and the ball knocked on.
The Stroud forwards kept up pressure during the second half, but a score was not forthcoming. Old Cents scored the only try of the second half. This game was lost by Stroud in the first half, but the spirit of the side was excellent; as could be seen by the contribution of the Leworthy family of Matt (dad) and sons, Sam, Jamie and Sunny (who was playing for the first time for Stroud).
