This was the last league fixture for the Nomads for 2011/12 season, and turned out to be ill tempered and in the end a narrow defeat.

The Nomads got off to the perfect start when Hucclecote were penalised for going offside and full back Cory Baker kicked the resultant penalty.

As Hucclecote were unable to field a front row the scrums were totally ineffective as both sides retained their 'put in', which gave the Hucclecote backs plenty of opportunities to pressurise the Stroud defence.

After some 20minutes the young Hucclecote scrum half made an excellent break and ran some 30 yards to score their first try.

Stroud came back strongly and 2nd row Lee Marshall was denied a try as the ball was knocked from his grasp as he went to score.

Further pressure by the Stroud forwards came to nothing and another break out by the Hucclecote threequarters led to their full back scoring their 2nd try.

The game then degenerated into a brawl with both sets of forwards involved and the Hucclecote wing forward being sin binned. Although down to 14men Hucclecote continued to look dangerous and just before half time a rolling maul ended up with their forwards scoring their 3rd try.

The second half was mainly played near the half way line with neither side gaining the ascendancy, until a good threequarter movement by the Nomads gave winger Jess Stevens the opportunity to round his winger and run some 40metres beating the covering defence to score near the corner, the try being converted by Cory Baker.

This gave the Nomads the momentum to attack the Hucclecote line but on several occasions the ball was lost in contact and from one of the turnovers Hucclecote broke out and a kick ahead was gathered by their winger who scored in the corner.

There followed further fighting which resulted in a Hucclecote player being sin binned., from the resultant penalty Nomads fly half Sam Leworthy scored near the posts, the try being converted by Cory Baker.

The rock hard ground caused several injuries during the match and gave the opportunity for Indy Jones and Jacob Marsh to make their debuts for Stroud.
