Result: Stroud Nomads 48pts - Cirencester 2nd XV 3pts

This was an excellent all round display by the Nomads threequarters and forwards, with some exciting tries being scored. The early exchanges were kept mainly in midfield with neither side looking dangerous. However, after 15minutes Jordan Phipps the Stroud full back made a superb run from deep inside his own half and gave a try scoring pass to wing Tom Flanagan who scored at the posts, converted by Cory Baker.

Stroud maintained the pressure and good work by forwards Rob Higgins, Matt Hunt and Kev Kearney resulted in a turnover ball, giving the threequarters the opportunity to send wing Tom Flanagan over in the corner for his 2nd try. Cirencester came more into the game and sustained pressure in the Nomads half resulted in a penalty goal being kicked after Stroud went offside.

Further pressure by the Nomads forwards gave the backs further opportunities to score with Jordan Phipps and centre Harry Phillips carving holes in the Cirencester defence, which eventually cracked and Phillips scored the 3rd try.

In the second half Stroud maintained there dominance and it was no surprise when after good threequarter play centre Jamie Leworthy crossed for a try which was converted by Cory Baker, who soon afterwards kicked a penalty goal.

Cirencester were kept under pressure throughout this half, although their full back took the opportunity of breaking out from inside his own 22 and was brilliantly tackled by Stroud winger Blue Cornock near the Nomads try line.

Stroud retaliated immmediately and good work by 2nd Row Lee Marshall gave fly half Cory Baker a chance to wriggle through several tackles and score and convert his try. In the last minutes of the game scrum half Dan Ryland picked up a loose ball near the half way line and scooted 30 metres to score at the posts, the try again converted by Cory Baker.

Another good win by the Nomads, with all players contributing to what was an excellent game.
