Stroud maintained most of the pressure in the first half with their forwards winning plenty of the ball. The first try came after around 20 minutes when prop Omar Elbanna made a storming run up the field and crossed for a try which was converted.
Nomads continued to attack and soon after wing Nathan Taylor made a weaving run through the Dursley defence and scored wide out, the conversion failing. Not to be out done Dursley caught the ball from the ensuing kick off and their forwards drove over for a converted try. With the playing conditions worsening Stroud went further ahead with a penalty kick by full back Sam Smith.
The second half was fairly even with Dursley coming more into the game and converting two penalty kicks. Stroud forwards once again upped their work rate and were rewarded with a penalty try after Dursley had collapsed a rolling maul near their try line.
With spectators and possibly the referee having difficulty in distinguishing which players were on which side, Dursley took advantage by scoring two unconverted tries. With time running out Nomads attacked and a good run by prop Omar Elbanna ended when he was tackled a few metres from the Dursley line, with players outside him.
Stroud will be disappointed in losing this match which they had snatched from their grasp late in the game.
