Gordon League were from the opening minutes of the match completely outplayed their opposition. With only minutes gone a driving maul by the Stroud forwards led to wing forward Luke Dando, back from Royal Navy duties, crashing past several would be tacklers and scoring at the posts, converted by stand off Cory Baker.
The onslaught continued throughout the first half with tries coming at regular intervals after good play from both forwards and backs alike. Two more tries by Luke Dando were followed by some excellent threequarter play by the Nomads giving centre Peter Sykes the opportunity to score after a superb run of some 50 metres.
Further tries followed from full back Chris Toon and scrum half Jordan Phipps. Gordon League eventually maintained some possession and from this their forwards drove over for an unconverted try.
Stung by this Nomads went straight down into the 22 of Gordon League and captain Rob Davey broke away from a rolling maul and drove over the line for a try.
The second half was much the same as the first with Nomads completely dominating most of the play and further tries were scored by Jamie Leworthy, Luke Dando (his 4th), Peter Sykes, Chris Toon, Sam Davies, Rob Davey and Jordan Phipps.
Perhaps the best try of the afternoon was scored by replacement winger Jess Stevens who received the ball in his 22 and made a weaving run of some 70 metres to score a fine try.To their credit Gordon League never gave up and scored the final try of the afternoon which was converted.
This was a fine all round performance by the Nomads with special mention to forwards Luke Dando, Liam Hopkins and Phil Fruin and backs Peter Sykes and Chris Toon who were at the heart of most of Stroud's play.
