PAINSWICK

With 25 in the squad for Painswick it was necessary to split the kids into 3 teams.
The first team out was Keiths' with Zach, Max L, Max M, Will R, Tom H and Tommy starting. Will R and Tommy were in excellent tagging form. Tom H ran in a try fromm the half way line (we were playing on a full size pitch 60m).
The final whistle saw a 9-6 win for Stroud

Damien's squad were next out - Daniel, Will VDB, Dylan K, Theo, Imogen, Jake P, Thomas H & Sam H
Dylan K ran in the first two tries - one was after a full pitch sprint.
Theo performed a flying tag tackle (not sure if this is permitted but quite spectacular!). Imogen was outrunning every opponent.
Unfortunately at this point I was called away to a first aid emergency(luckily not one of ours). The final score was a 6-6 draw

It was then Adam's squad's turn - Toby, Will G, Archie, Callum, Will F, Ethan, Lawrence and Joseph D. Adam and the Painswick coach decided to run a full 20 minute match (much to the surprise of the kids!).
Callum started the match with the first of his 4 tries. Will F scored the second try with superb supportive play from Joseph. Will G took the thirt try of the match. Callum scored try No 5 after a 6 tag turnover from Painswick. Callum completed the first half with try Number 6.

An exhausted squad returned for the second half which started with a try from Archie. Joseph D scored the 8th try after a 6th tag turnover from Painswick. Toby M was try No 9 - a full pitch sprint to get that one over. Try 10 from Joseph D and the final try of the match from Ethan after Lawrence had run most of the pitch and only got tagged 2metres from the line.FINAL SCORE 11-9 TO STROUD

The last match I was able to record was for Damiens crew again.
Thomas Hayes (who was having an absolutely cracking day) ran in the first try of the match. Theo - No 2, Imogen out ran everyone (including our boys) to get try No 3. The first half ended 3-3. The second half saw the squad hungry for success with Tom H starting with try No 4, Imogen than ran in her second of the match promptly followed by Will VBD which was supported by Sam H. Theo then ran over try number 7 and Imogen finalised the match with try no 8. FINAL SCORE 8-6 TO STROUD

Keiths Team was playing a further match whilst this was going on and his team triumphed 9-6 again!.

There were many unsung heroes from sunday who havent been metnioned as I couldn't cover all the matches.

The squad were amazing and yet again the coaches came away from Painswick extremely proud of the whole squad.
