Today saw reduced squad travel to the beautiful Cotswolds to play Stow on the Wold. I’m sure it is beautiful but the wind and horizontal rain meant for poor views!
Two fantastic packs went head to head with wonderful displays of rucking and some crunching scrums.
Well worked moves and some amazing handling, especially given the conditions, meant both sides played expansive rugby keeping all the players involved and allowing some galloping runs down the wings.
Playing the game in quarters meant a few squad changes for both sides and after a few of our players had to come off with injuries, even a debut for a Stroud to Stow recruit at full back!
Only a few missed tackles but these were fully capitalised on by Stow who stretched the score well out of our reach.
The last quarter however, we did fight back hard and scored a few tries which just showed the boys determination to play to the end, not giving up or succumbing to the cold!
A great match against a very skilled side, once again the boys did us proud.
