A sunny but blustery day saw us visit Cirencester.
Playing the game in four quarters really supports teams in managing important squad changes, however Stroud didn’t seem to realise quarter 1 had started and had to survive a brutal and sustained Cirencester attack which saw them cross the line several times.
Realising the game had in fact started, Stroud fought back well, stopping the one way traffic. Through the remaining quarters they showed great dominance and structure throughout the squad, putting together great phases of play in both attack and defence.
The boys showed fantastic commitment and resilience after a very shaky start and fought back to take the game to Cirencester, showing skills with creating space for runs and retaining the ball when needed.
Going from strength to strength the boys kept battling to the last minute...... if only we could have had a fifth quarter!!
Final score ..... Ciren 36. Stroud 22
