Sale of land behind posts at Bath Road end

The club has been in negotiations with New Dawn Homes to sell them a parcel of land (the bank) behind the posts at the Bath Road end of the ground

If this is successful it will make a huge difference in making the club’s future finances secure. In order for it to happen, New Dawn Homes need to obtain planning permission for this proposed housing development.

There is a Council planning meeting to be held at Stroud District Council Offices, Ebley Mill on Tuesday 9th June starting at 6:00pm, when the New Dawn Homes application, among others, will be considered.

It has been strongly suggested that as many members of Stroud Rugby should attend this meeting to show the strength of the Club (it is a public meeting). If we could all identify closely with the club by wearing something with a club logo on it this would be even better. At this stage we do not know at what point in the evening the NDH application will be discussed, so ideally it would best if we could be there from 6:00 pm.

Should we get more definite information re. timing we will let you know

Please come and support the club on a night which is so crucial to the Club’s future.

Best wishes

Roger Hughes
Club Secretary
